There are many individuals and promotional companies here in Lexington striving to bring an event that will give the citizens of this town something to support. There have been a vast number of different events that have been advertised in attempts to bring a new aspect to Lexington’s nightlife and city activities. Many show some success and others not so much, but it doesn’t stop the next event planner/promoter from believing they can climb to the top spot for the city’s most notable and successful events. I had the privilege of being invited to the Front Street Magazine Business and Social Network Event in January. The event, Sponsored by Front Street Entertainment (FSE), is an attempt to have business professionals and others to attend and meet other individuals in the city. Attendees will be able to enjoy live music from a feature band and vocalists, live poetry, monologues, presenters from different businesses (local and corporate), and etc.
The January event was the first of a monthly venture that FSE will be sponsoring. It is held at Kentucky Proud Market downtown in Lexington’s convention center (2nd floor). I encourage everyone in the area to make an attempt to attend this wonderful event. It is open to the public from 6pm-9pm with a $5.00 cover charge. Kentucky Proud Market offers wine tasting from Kentucky-made wines such as Merlot, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, and many more. Canned goods are collected at every event to donate to “God’s Pantry” and especially now for the Haiti Relief project. In an attempt to provide donations for charity, FSE allows for $1.00 off admission with the donation of canned goods.
As many strive to bring Lexington great events and activities, FSE is truly one of the few planners embarking on this mission with the people of Lexington in mind. Not only will you be entertained, but you will be able to meet and greet with other professionals, experience new arts, hear about major and local businesses, all in a great and warm atmosphere. Upon attending January’s event, it truly was an experience. It was an event truly for the people and not just an attempt to gain my money through the cover charge. I am very excited about the future of this event and the features it will offer.
