Lewiston will be hosting its annual Art Festival on Saturday and Sunday, August 10th and 11th on Center St., followed by the Historic Lewiston Jazz Festival on Friday and Saturday, August 23rd and 24th at numerous venues throughout Lewiston.
The Lewiston Art Festival will feature more than 175 artists and crafters with items for sale, along with a chalk walk on Saturday, street performances, hands-on activities and more. Center St. will be closed off from 4th to 8th Streets to promote a pedestrian-friendly layout. Young artists from high school and college will also be featured on College Alley, on North and South 5th Streets. Hours for the Art Festival are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.
The Historic Lewiston Jazz Festival features more than just music – there’s food and wine throughout the village from some of the area’s finest restaurants and Niagara Wine Trail wineries, a “jewelry and jazz wearables” show (Friday from 5 to 10:30 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m.) and a classic car show (Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.). Of course, the music is the headliner for the weekend, and the headlining musicians including Bobby Militello on Friday (9 p.m. on the Main Stage) and the Celebration of Lionel Hampton on Saturday (8:30 p.m. on the Main Stage). Hours are Friday 5 to 10:30 p.m. and Saturday noon to 10 p.m.; some restaurants and bars in Lewiston will be open for “after hours jazz” throughout the weekend as well.
