'Leverage' spoilers: What's next for Eliot?

Leverage season 4 continues Sunday November 27 with "The Experimental Job," and this season has seen the two "will they/won't they" couples of the show take big steps forward. Nate and Sophie are insisting they're casual, while Parker and Hardison are one step closer to a relationship. Where does this leave Eliot?

Eliot may not have anyone on the team, but he's also going through some changes this season. Executive producer Dean Devlin talked to Entertainment Weekly Friday about what's coming up for everyone's favorite hitter:

"The thing that’s happening to Eliot is, Eliot suddenly finds himself caring about other people, which is something he hasn’t done for a long, long time. More and more he finds himself the big brother of everybody on the show and finds himself needing to take care of everybody and finding these emotional connections that he didn’t have before. So for him, he’s working on a level of fulfillment he’s never felt in his life."

Eliot is the muscle of the group, and he has been through some pretty tough situations on the show. He's been beaten down, but he's come out on top. A part of his past did come back to haunt him when Moreau showed up in season 3, and it was for Moreau that he did the worst thing he ever has in his life. Moreau also remarked that Eliot usually works alone. That has changed, and it continues to be true that he does care about this group of thieves he works with. Devlin also said,

"At the same time, there’s this enormous feeling of being uncomfortable. He’s never been a person that allows himself to show weakness or to show sympathy, or to show caring. But he’s overwhelmed with those feelings now for the first time in his life."

He's still getting used to that feeling, and the "thing that saves him is the connection to his new-found family." It hasn't yet been revealed just what Eliot did while working for Moreau, but it sounds like he's going to be going through enough in "The Experimental Job," as he "will be faced with 'one of the mot grueling things we ever put him through,'" according to Devlin. Just what will he be facing? Whatever it is, it sounds like he's not going to be thinking about whatever happened while working for Moreau—though viewers would love to know what that is.

Leverage continues Sundays at 9PM starting November 27 on TNT with the rest of season 4. What are you looking forward to seeing from Eliot in season 4.5?
