Leaf lettuce and cabbage can both be used to make bowls. Fill them with a number of ingredients, and create an entire meal. For instance, a breakfast bowl using leaf lettuce may include scrambled egg topped with bacon pieces and diced tomato.
A lunch bowl made with cabbage as a base might include shredded lettuce and radicchio, topped with a few strips of grilled chicken, a sliced hard boiled egg and strawberry slices.
For dinner, a heartier choice would be to use a lettuce leaf as the bowl, filling it with browned ground beef, whole kernel corn, diced tomato, cheese and some parsley.
Serve these easy meals with a mixed fruit salad, or a garden salad, for added nutrient content.
