Everyone, at some point in their life, goes through times when they wish there was someone to help guide them through their troubles. Are you ready for a powerful truth? God is active in your life’s journey and the discovery that you are never truly alone can be very comforting.
Growing up many of us read the classic children’s Bible stories of Noah and the Flood, Daniel in the Lion’s Den and Joseph and his Coat of many Colors. Listening to these stories, we hear how God was taking an active part in these peoples’ lives. Since these stories were written so long ago and from a different culture, they often come across as removed from the lives we live today, however. Many people do not consider the fact that the events taking place in their life right now are happening for a reason.
The narratives in the Bible stories and our experiences in everyday life are very similar, though. God’s plans for us are all wrapped up with the challenges we encounter. Your troubles are actually your guide. You see, they are the messages, the guiding voice we all seek. God has an agenda for you. The trials and tribulations you face are often rerouting tools used by God to get you back on your path or to bring into focus some part of your life that requires your attention.
Our incarnation on Earth is unique. It is our school, our opportunity for facing challenges, learning lessons, and growing our souls. Growth is not meant to be easy, to grow we must be challenged from time to time. Often our own personal desires for a situation are not the same as God’s desire. These times can be very disheartening and disappointing. It is best not to stubbornly force your will on a situation where God’s Will is in motion. You will recognize you are in this situation when you find yourself constantly repeating the same struggle, as if you are stuck in a loop, until you learn that lesson.
Now, when a troubling event arises in your life, do not despair, know that God is taking an active role in your life and calling on you to accept the challenge and to grow as an individual being. It can be very comforting to know that God is intimately intertwined with you and your journey, in this world and while preparing us for the next.
