Let us continually cultivate the fruit of God’s Holy Spirit

A Daily Word from the Word for Tuesday, February 18, 2014

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” – Galatians 5:22-23

Approximately two years ago, the Lord gave me a dream about tending to His garden within my heart. I am so grateful to my Loving Father, who is ever so mindful of His children, for the dreams and visions He blesses me with.

I am always most grateful for His revelation; which many times, bring about much-needed correction—of which, this dream was one. The Lord reminded me of this revelation, as sometimes we are tested by the wrong and ugly attitudes of people, and it is so incredibly important that we keep our heart right before the Lord.

I dreamt that I was in my garden, and my vegetables were overgrown and untended. In my dreams, my garden vegetables are always very large, signifying good fruit of the Spirit; but this time, my produce was overgrown.

The vegetables in my spiritual garden are summer and winter squash. I love that they are of a vine vegetable, as this symbolizes being attached to the True Vine, Who is Jesus Christ. The only fruit worth bearing is the stuff that is produced in you by virtue of your being attached to the Vine! John 15:5 testifies from the most Holy Garden: “I [Jesus] am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”

What the Lord spoke to me is that I had been over-tending to my flesh garden; and therefore neglecting my spiritual garden. Now, be easy, my brothers and sisters; as I wasn’t out there living in sin, indulging in the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life :-). However, I was allowing my flesh to assess and react to wrong rather than cultivating a response from the garden of God’s loving-kindness.

My desire is God’s desire. I desire to be a willing and living vessel in which the glory of the Father is overflowing from me; and the only one that people see is the Living God. I want people to drink from the Rivers of Living Water that overflow from my innermost being, and not get a piece of flesh stuck in between their teeth.

When kingdom business is first and foremost, as evidenced by lost souls being one over to Christ, then God is glorified. And this, my brothers and sisters, is the only seed worth planting. What about you? Now go plant some kingdom seed!

Father, thank You for your Most Holy Spirit. Thank You that we bear fruit because we are attached to the Vine, Who is Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Help us, Most Fruitful Father, to always be mindful of our spiritual garden, and to always tend to Your fruit; which is planted in us by your Holy Spirit. In Jesus Name, we thank You that we are good ground, made good only by the Blood of the Lamb. Amen and Amen.

Take action! Challenge your thinking! Choose to focus on your fruit every single day. Choose to be mindful of the Fruit of the Spirit, and to be sensitive to the Most Holy Spirit, who testifies and brings the truth of the Father. And continue to fight the good fight of tending to and cultivating your spiritual garden; for God, your Master Gardener, has already given you the victory!

If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it today, right now, by saying this prayer out loud: “Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I am sorry. I truly desire to be saved and reconciled back to God, my Father, through You. I receive Your sinless Blood as payment in full for my sins—past, present, and future. I now call You my Lord and Savior, and invite You to live within my heart, and to permanently live within me. I make You Lord over me and over my life from this moment on. Amen.” Congratulations! You are now a child of God, made whole and made new, by the Blood of Jesus Christ!

God tells us that we are blessed to be a blessing (Genesis 12:2). Be a blessing to someone by sending them this word of encouragement. If God did not already put someone in your spirit and on your heart that needs to read this uplifting message from above, simply ask your Heavenly Father who to bless on today. Forward this message right now by email, facebook, or twitter.

Jesus is coming soon!

May God Bless you and keep you always.

With warmest regards,

And, in service of The Most High King,

Matthew
