Las Vegas offers some of the best dining in the US. Whenever I visit Las Vegas I love to check out the dining scene. During a recent Las Vegas visit I dropped by Wynn's Country Club for lunch with a friend. The Country Club at Wynn's has a beautiful setting for some great wine and food. Since both of us are wine bloggers we decided to try a wine flight with lunch. The wine flight we ordered included (1) Momo, Marlborough Pinot Noir, 2008 (see reviews at Old Parn's Wine Review, Vinopedia and Wine Align) (2) Stratton Lummis The Riddde, Napa Valley Red Wine NV (see reviews at Snooth and The Sip-Worthy Cellar) and (3) Dutch Henry Winery, Napa Valley, Hillside Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 (see reviews at Cellar Tracker and wine-searcher). Last time in Napa I dropped by Dutch Henry Winery; so it was easy to identify with one of the wines in the flight. It was equally exciting to be introduced some new wines. As the wine reviews suggest it was a good flight.
For lunch we started with a salad. Our entrees choices were steak and portobello mushroom. For dessert we chose a fruit sorbet. We had excellent wine, food and service at Wynn's Country Club. This is not surprising because Wynn's Country Club tops most lists. You can check out Wynn's Country Club reviews at OpenTable, Tripadvisor, and Yelp. At Wynn's you have many dining options, such as Le Cave Wine and Food Hideaway with some special wine offerings. If you get lucky at the tables you might want to drop by to celebrate. Whatever your reason you can not go wrong with sampling a wine flight at Wynn's. Now for some further tips on finding great dining spots in Las Vegas.
Tips for finding a great Las Vegas dining spot
Las Vegas draws visitors from around the world. While most come to try their luck at the tables, some visitors come to Las Vegas just to dine. To sort out the best places to dine in Vegas can be a challenge. In fact there are a number of books written on this very topic. What I have discovered is that there are a few general patterns in online dining information on Las Vegas. The most useful information is contained in two types of lists. The two types are lists provided by culinary experts and lists compiled based on diners rankings. In an earlier article there is an overview of the lists that I found helpful to decide on where to dine in Las Vegas.
Improve your odds of having a great dining experience
Now that you have some online sources to check out you can improve your odds of finding that perfect dining experience by considering certain factors. While figuring out how much you want to spend will influence you choice there are other factors. Other factors like type of cuisine, location (on or off The Strip), etc. I also found that it is important to decision on the meal whether it is breakfast, brunch, lunch or diner. Or, in the case of Las Vegas late night dining there are some specific recommendations. Las Vegas is after all a city that never sleeps.
Las Vegas has so many great restaurants and there are new restaurants opening all the time. However, with a little research you can improve your odds of having a great Las Vegas dining experience.
