Save money, time and gas for a trip to the spa by trying these easy, at-home facial treatments. You probably have all or most of these items right in your kitchen and they only take a few minutes to prepare. These natural ingredients will help supply your skin with the nutrients it needs to have a healthy glow and rid skin of impurities. Make sure to wash your face with a facial cleanser of your choice before applying the masks.
For dry skin:
Avocado Mask
Ingredients:
- 1 avocado
- 1 knife or peeler
- 1 fork or spoon
- 1 small cup or bowl
Steps: Peel avocado. Using a fork or spoon, mash the pulp. Apply to face and neck, leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Follow with your favorite toner and moisturizer.
Banana Mask
Ingredients:
- 1/2 banana
- 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil
- 1 fork or spoon
- 1 small bowl or cup
Steps: Mash banana and add sunflower oil, mix well. Apply to face and neck and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water and then cool water. Pat dry and use toner and moisturizer.
For normal skin:
Honey-Yogurt Mask
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt
- 1 spoon
- 1 small bowl or cup
Steps: Mix together the honey and yogurt. Smooth onto face and neck. Leave the mixture on for 20 minutes and then rinse well with cool water, then warm water. Follow with a toner and moisturize.
(The yogurt can be switched out for oatmeal for a thicker paste)
For oily skin:
Egg White Mask
Ingredients:
- 1 egg white
- 1 fork
- 1 small bowl or cup
Steps: Crack open egg and separate the egg white, discard the yolk. Place the egg white into your bowl or cup and beat well. Apply to your face, especially the t-zone area. Leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse well with warm water then cool water. Follow with a toner and moisturizer of your choice.
These at-home face treatments will leave your skin feeling smooth and will draw out dirt and oil and any buildup. Do as often as you'd like.
