Parents are continually looking for new and better ways to protect themselves and their children from natural elements such as the sun. Many are also concerned about the best way to offer the protection as many products on the market, cost not really an issue, not only do not offer the sun protection as promised but contain ingredients that parents don’t necessarily want around their children.
Ocean Elements Sheer Daily Moisture SPF 30 is new to the market. It was developed by dermatologists and skin care researchers after they were inspired by the seaweed harvesters of coastal Maine. This sun protection product harnesses the power of its five marine ingredients and performs the work of three separate products:
· Protects skin from the sun’s damaging rays
· Provides deep hydration via its marine ingredients
· Utilizes collagen to reverse and reduce the signs of aging
The cost for all of this protection is only $38. What is best is that moms can wear Ocean Elements alone or under makeup!
Not only does this combination product save you money now and in the long run, it provides some extensive benefits that parents will want to know about. They include:
· Five marine ingredients that increase sun protection, provide long-lasting hydration and restore sun damaged and aging skin
· Gentle non-nano zinc oxide and titanium dioxide that protect against photo aging
· Effective moisture from cocoa seed butter and sweet almond oil, as well as marine and other natural ingredients
· Rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatories that even skin tone, alleviate redness, calm and rejuvenate skin
· Sheer formulation that combines superior hydration and serious sun protection that is water resistant for up to 80 minutes
· Free from fragrance, PABA, parabens, BPA, phthalates and other harmful chemicals.
It all began when J. Michael Taylor, M.D., M.P.H., provided a free melanoma screening for Main fisherman. He noticed that the seaweed harvesters had surprisingly smooth, well-hydrated hands compared to that of the fishermen and lobstermen. This observation supported his research that seaweed and other sea life is rich in natural SPF boosters, antioxidants and anti-inflammatories, as well as minerals and vitamins that provide superior hydration.
These observations inspired Dr. Taylor to investigate other marine sources and properties where he found a treasure trove of beneficial ingredients, including SPF boosters, antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, and anti-inflammatories and moisturizers. This led Dr. Taylor and his wife Wendy to combine this ocean inspiration with their concern for healthy skin and began working with scientists and other dermatologists to develop Ocean Elements Sheer Daily Moisture SPF 30.
“I participated in a free melanoma screening at the annual Maine Fishermen’s Forum after I had already begun researching marine life that has beneficial properties for the skin,” said Brightwater Bay Science co-founder J. Michael Taylor, MD, MPH. “I noticed that the hands of seaweed harvesters were smooth and moist while those of lobstermen and fishermen were rough and dry. As a dermatologist, I have seen individuals of all ages who recognized the importance of daily sun protection, but struggled to find sunscreens that weren’t greasy, thick, or filled with questionable chemicals. Even with scores of products available, I found it impossible to point my patients to an effective, cosmetically acceptable, natural and hydrating sunscreen. So we developed Ocean Elements™ Sheer Daily Moisture SPF 30 to address this need.”
The product is made and distributed by Maine-based Brightwater Bay Science, LLC. Currently you can purchase it at www.oelements.com or from select retailers in the New England area.
The best thing is mentioned last, up to 50 percent of the proceeds from the sale of Ocean Elements™ Sheer Daily Moisture SPF 30 will be donated to non-profit organizations involved in health care or the environment, including Konbit Sante – a health care initiative in northern Haiti founded by Michael and Wendy Taylor. So, as parents protect their families this summer, they are also protecting others in the process!
