The light as a summer salad Comedy called "Soul Kitchen", premiering at home on IFC`s In Theaters + On Demand series for Pittsburgh subscribers to Comcast cable, plays a little like that old song done by the Doors that not only is it the name of the Restaurant where this Indie slice-of-life takes place but, its patrons love it so much they want to reflect its refrain.

That refrain about sleeping all night in your soul kitchen may end up happening to stick in viewers ears (eyes & stomach!) upon watching as well, in a delicious story involving a young Restaurateur, starring co-Scripter Adam Bousdoukos. His cookery in a state of disrepair along with his love-life, who hurts himself and needs someone to run the business.

Leaving his carefree, buglarizing brother, played by scene-stealer Moritz ("Run Lola Run") Bleibtrau, just out on "part-time" parole, in charge. Helped by a hard-drinking, chain-smoking waitress who falls for the jailbird & a newly-hired, pompous gypsy Chef with outlandish principles, such as poisoning the customers he doesn't like with an aphrodisiac.

Just like the refrain, customers eventually begin to show and won't leave even after the Restaurant changes hands, undergoes multiple renovations & different menus. Tantalizing and chaotic, the film turns out  to be a a winning recipe for these downtrodden, working-class folks.

Told in a crazed style reminiscent of the fast-paced work done by a short-order Cook. One dish served and on to the next. Videoesque and a big departure from the Turkish-born German Director Faith ("Head-On") Akin's previous Dramas, that are usually filled with grief instead of the warm chuckles served in this one. Enjoy this heady mix of food, fun and family that will leave audiences craving for more.
