We can get rid of bad family court judges. The defeat of Saratoga County Family Court Judge, Gilbert Abramson, in this week's Republican primary proves that.
The defeat of Abramson was finalized in the ballot box, but it started long before that.
Actually, he brought about his own defeat by some of the decisions he handed down, particularly in the case of Julia BB.
But he was also defeated because people who suffered from his decisions decided they were going to do something about it--like filing complaints against him. And wisely filing them in a way to bring about his defeat.
Do you have a particularly bad family court judge in your county? Don't be hesitant to file complaints against him or her. Not frivilous complaints, real ones.
Do it a few months before the primary or general election, so the State Commission on Judicial Conduct will be forced to initiate an investigation.
Then leak the news of the investigation to the media.
There is still time to file complaints before the general election this year, if a family court judge has done you wrong.
Some people reading this, might disagree with the strategy. Too bad.
It's time to fight fire with fire. There are too many judges who abuse their authority, whose black robes go to their head, who wear gold plated underwear but don't realize that when they go to the bathroom, they still stink like the rest of us.
On the other hand, if you know of a family court judge who has been fair and treats people in the courtroom with dignity, do all you can to re-elect him or her to office, regardless of what political party he or she belongs to.

The GOP has recommended some real "winners" for family court. families and kids have been hurt.
I am registered republican but I am not a mindless drone. I support Rybak and I have been to family court. I've seen what happens first hand. We need something different then want the GOP is pushing for family court, sorry but this one they should lose.

Years ago, Pam and Will Gaston in Oregon started asking the judges if they were in a Constitutional Court of Due Process.
Pamela even asked the Oregon Supreme Court that question. No judge would answer her.
To "Jack Frost"-
The political party is irrelevant when it comes to "Family Court".
There should be NO "Family Court" to begin with. It's just as unconstitutional as Traffic court, and anybody who wants the job being "judge" in a Kangaroo Kourt is EVIL.
To "Leonard Henderson"
I agree on the sentiment that Family Court is unconstitutional. Until such time that it is changed it is what we have.
That being said you can let the GOP appoint whoever they want , handing the seat out as reward for loyalty or you can have a voice through voting.

Children are not property. The parent that leaves their children behind/leaves the home forfeits being their parent for life. Visitation is a joke to stoke controlling behaviors.
Abramson knew nothing about family, he only knew what he wanted to know or perceive. His smart ass comments got him exactly where his perceived untouchable ass should be............... not a judge. Too bad sooooo many people backed his decisions even though they knew he was wrong, better known as Saratoga CPS (another joke). Time to turnover that department.
CPS does not "back" decisions of a judge. It is the other way around. The Judge has final say in child abuse matters, and believe me, CPS does not always agree with Judge's decisions, but have no authority to do anything about it. Blame the system. All counties work in this way.
This jerk was flirting with my ex-wife the last time we appeared before him. We resolved our issue outside the court room and went in for his stamp of approval so I didn't especially care, but he came across as quite unprofessional to me. Maybe he was using his office to get a little action.
