Leslie leads the Santa Cruz Warriors with a close win against Springfield (Photos)

Guard Travis Leslie scored 17 points to lead the Santa Cruz Warriors with an 88-79 win against the Springfield Armor on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, CA.

Without Golden State Warriors assignees Jeremy Tyler and Kent Blazemore, the game was close with 13 lead changes and 9 ties. The Warriors led by three points after the first quarter at 21-18, which they maintained after the second quarter at 40-37 and after the third quarter at 66-63. The Armor was only trailing by five points with just over a minute left in the game, but the Warriors defended well and made their free throws for the 88-79 victory.

Forward Taylor Griffin scored double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds for Santa Cruz. Guard Stefhon Hannah scored 13 points, and guard Cameron Jones added 12 points.

The Warriors improved to 8-2 for the season and remained undefeated at home with three wins. They will host the Sioux Falls Skyforce on New Year's Day. Tip-off is at 2:00pm.
