Leroy Hill got arrested Tuesday night (Jan. 29) in a domestic violence incident. According to a report from Wednesday morning (Jan. 30), Hill has a history of off-field issues and this is the second time in the last four years he has been arrested for domestic violence.
This is pretty bad news for Hill, especially as he heads into free agency this offseason. After playing the last eight seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, he will once again become available to every team in the league. It's still possible that the Seahawks could offer him a one-year deal to come back for the 2013 NFL season, but things are up in the air at the moment.
According to a new report from The Seattle Times on Wednesday, it was the Issaquah Police that arrested Hill on Tuesday night. He is facing two counts of alleged domestic violence that could certainly put a hamper on his pending free agency. Those charges are fourth-degree assault, which is a gross misdemeanor, and the second count is unlawful imprisonment. The second one is a felony.
That Leroy Hill got arrested again is not a surprise when viewing it against his checkered history and it could be tough to recover from more domestic violence charges being levied against him. In the NFL, though, it seems like players aren't too worried about losing a paycheck for crimes like this. Hill may have to deal with a punishment from the NFL if the case ends up going to trial as well.
