Jonah Hill spent his Saturday hosting SNL for the third time. However, his opening monologue has stolen the spotlight from his on stage antics. According to a story Jan 26 story published by the New York Daily News, the star had an unexpected guest join him on the stage. In fact, many audience members were shocked when Leonardo DiCaprio joined his “Wolf of Wall Street” costar on Saturday Night Live.
Jonah Hill’s SNL opening started like almost every other. The star made an opening speech, but this time, audience members started asking questions about his heartthrob costar. Eventually, he lost his temper, and went into a tirade against DiCaprio. During his rant, he stated that Martin Scorsese did not want DiCaprio in the film, and that he was responsible for getting him the role.
Then I say, 'Should we get DiCaprio on board?' And Marty says, 'I don't know if he can handle it. Sure he's a movie star and puts teenage girls in the seats. But we need a real actor like you.”” -Jonah Hill
At that moment, Leonardo DiCaprio walked onto the stage. Jonah Hill appeared to turn red, and DiCaprio proceeded to scold the rising star. Eventually, he told Hill that he should be gracious because, with his Academy Award, he was a “real actor” now.
To finish making up for the misunderstanding, the two stars shared an embrace. However, the joke was not finished yet. Eventually, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill embraced in a pose reminiscent of his “Titanic” scene with Kate Winslet.
