Leonardo DiCaprio wore a dapper suit to the 2014 Golden Globes, winning best actor in the musical or comedy film category for the Martin Scorsese made “Wolf of Wall Street”, according to a Jan. 13 report in ABC News. Leo has been nominated at the Golden Globe Awards ten different times, but has only won one other instance for “The Aviator”, a film about Howard Hughes, which was also directed by Scorsese.
Leonardo DiCaprio gave an emotional speech Sunday after winning his second Golden Globe Award, bringing up how difficult it was for him to get this film made. Leo said that Martin Scorsese was his favorite director, and he couldn’t believe after eight years of work, the two of them have such a wonderful film with “The Wolf of Wall Street”.
This movie was an eight-year process to put up on screen … And I got my favorite director in the world, one of my favorite artists of all time, to direct it … I'm so lucky to be able to do movies with him. Especially films like this. That kind of push the boundaries and take chances. Films that ultimately say something about the darker nature of our culture. And those are hard to do. So, yeah, I suppose I did get a little emotional,” Leo stated behind the scenes at the Golden Globes.
Leonardo DiCaprio has been nominated for the Oscars on three separate occasions, but has never taken home the prestigious award. Many fans are hoping this 2014 Golden Globe Awards win will propel him to take the coveted Oscar statue home.
Leo DiCaprio is rumoured to be in “Beat the Reaper” in 2014. He is also said to be starring in two more films in 2015, “Portofino” and “Live by Night”, according to IMDB.
