Leona Lewis and friends raise funds for Hopefield Animal Sanctuary

The rain on Saturday night, November 19, 2011, wasn't about to stop Leona Lewis as the lovely crooner and friends came out at the home of philantropist James Costa in the hills above Hollywood to raise funds for the Hopefield Animal Sanctuary. The organization is a non-profit organization caring for around 200 sick unwanted and mistreated animals.

Lewis was joined by Natasha Bedingfield and Matthew Morrison as the two lovely ladies serenaded the guests while Morrison joined Lewis in a special ukelele version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow."

Leona told this reporter's affiliate Pacific Rim Video why she was compelled to help Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, "I've been volunteering at Hopefield for a while and we really think it's time we can save more animals and expand, build an educational center there and so I wanted to put this event on to raise awareness and hopefully raise money to do that."

Angela Simmons, daugher of Rev Run, rushed into the event not wanting her hair to frizz up due to the rain, but still braved the rain and cold as she came out of the warm home to interview with the media standing outside on the wet red carpet. Asked why she came out, Simmons replied, "I'm cool with Leona and I wanted to support the organization. It's great that she's saving animals. I love animals and kids. It's my weakness. I had to come."
