Veracruz stunned champion Leon FC at the Nou Camp.

After a three game winning streak, Leon FC fell 1-0 to Veracruz FC at the Nou Camp during week 10 of the Clausura 2014 of La Liga MX. Leon had thrashed their last three opponents outscoring them 9-2 sending the panzas verdes to the top positions on the league table.

Uruguayan Matias Britos missed a shot from the penalty spot in the 64th minute. While La Fiera maintained their offensive style, they were also holding back. The team is scheduled to take on Emelec in Ecuador in Copa Libertadores during midweek action. Carlos “Gulit” Peña played 82 minutes, he had travelled to Atlanta midweek to play with Mexico against Nigeria. However, starters Rafael Marquez, Luis Montes, and goalkeeper William Yarbrough were not considered for the game.

The goal came in the 90th minute of play. Luis Sanchez took a powerful shot to beat the back-up keeper giving Veracruz the 1-0.
