Every year Lenovo has had a vast array of new models to show at CES in Las Vegas. This year is no different. Can’t cover them all here, but here are a few of the hot ones introduced last night.
The Horizon
2013 CES is the launch pad for what Lenovo calls their “interpersonal computing” on a “table-top PC” of sorts. The Horizon can be used by two players simultaneously in gaming mode while it lays flat in horizontal mode. Electronic Arts and Ubisoft are already developing games for the machine and it comes with accessories like joystick controllers and Bluetooth dice. The Lenovo App Shop provides access to 5,000+ more entertainment apps.
Used vertically, it’s a quite capable 27” slim desktop with Dolby Home Theatre v4 audio and Intel i7 processors.
The Yoga 11S
Yoga 11S follows last year’s successful release of the Yoga 13.3 convertible ultrabook. The 11S is the world first mini Ultrabook with a 10 point touch screen and 360 degree foldable screen functionality.
Get great graphics in a compact footprint with an 11.6-inch HD (1366x768) resolution monitor. Its wide viewing angle is great for sharing a movie or presentation. Hand gesture controls can be used to flip through pages of your ebook or songs playing through the Dolby Home Theatre v4 audio speakers.
The former Yoga 11 ran the RT operating system but this provides access to all your legacy applications with the full Windows 8 operating system.
The IdeaPad A730
Imagine the world’s slimmest (under 1” thick) 27-inch multi-touch all-in-one computer and you’ve imagined the IdeaCentre A730. Couple that with an Intel i7 Processor, NVIDIA GeForce GT745M 2GB graphics, and a 1TB SSHD storage device with 8GB SSD cache and you got a most capable machine for whatever type computing you do.
Like its other models, enjoy Dolby Home Theatre v4 sound while watching your movies or enjoying your electronic gaming. There’s an integrated DVD reader/writer or a Blu-ray Disc drive and you can add an optional integrated TV tuner. HDMI in and out connections are included for maximum versatility.
Authors note: Okay - I’m a fan of Lenovo (have been for years) and I’m enjoying typing this article on my Lenovo 13.3” Yoga. It’s one heck of a machine.
