At a time when technology devices seem to be getting smaller one of the more interesting new devices introduced on Monday at the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show was the super sized IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC.
Forget about pocket sized smart phones for amusing yourself, Lenovo went large with the new 27 inch Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC that takes over your coffee table to create a multi-user game board. The device can lie flat on any surface and allowss two or more people use the screen at the same time. The IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC supports interactive physical gaming accessories and is designed for touch screen game play among several players.
The Horizon Table PC was demonstrated with the classic board game MONOPOLY. The Lenovo App Shop, a dedicated apps store powered by Intel AppUp gives users access to over 5,000 multi-user entertainment apps.
If you want to use the Horizon as your personal computer, that is possible as well. Using the Table PC in the upright position you have a television sized touchscreen desktop Using Windows 8.
According to a Lenovo press release the IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC will be available beginning in early summer with prices starting at approximately $1,699.
The new table top computer looks like the ultimate family game center.
