I'm sorry, but is this really news?

  • Steve Marinucci 1 year ago

Yes. It's an event relating to a new Beatles book. Thanks for asking and taking a look.

Richard Langham, former recording engineer at Abbey Road who worked on Beatles' sessions with George Martin and Norman Smith, is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet! He contributed much detail to Kessler's book.

Really? Does it really warrant it's own column and not just a mention in a news briefs column?

I didn't see anywhere the item about Paul saving a woman from getting run over by a bike courier the other day.

Anytime anybody researches a John Lennon book for 2 decades before publishing it...that's news!

  • Anonymous 1 year ago

Congratulations, Jude. It's an impressive piece of work.

Jude's a brilliant writer who deserves more than this, not less! I took that top picture, by the way LOL...

I'm in agreement with the first poster. While the book itself is news, and maybe it's a really well done book and all, but really does an item about a book signing in the middle of nowhere PA (where I'm from btw) really warrant a column on it's own?

What does it matter where the book release party was? Would it make you feel less uncomfortable if it were held in New York City or Los Angeles?!? Or Chicago? Remember this...before The Beatles, unless you were a sailor or a shipbuilder, no one ever heard of Liverpool. But somehow, that all worked out, didn't it? Your small town bias is showing.

  • Helen Wheels 1 year ago

what small town bias, i live in a small town in PA as I stated.

  • Hey JUde 1 year ago

Its better than bad news about someone getting blown up in a country we shouldn't even be in! So yes it warrants its own column.

It's self-published fan fiction. I've said it before: I'm not really sure this qualifies as Beatles news. But you've got to hand it to Jude: she's also apparently a great self-publicist because she unfailingly gets her story out. More power to her, I guess.

I'm Jude's publicist. Thank you for the compliment. :-)

Fan fiction, that is even worse! It perpetuated fantasy, fallacy... I won't be buying it. I want only biographies not "historical fiction".

I don't support the genre at all, whether it be about Lennon or any other historical figure.

Nice piece, Steve (and Jude). I love seeing people who have a passion about something in life follow their dream. We should all have a piece of that in our lives. Looking forward to Volume #3.

Jude Kessler has been interviewed by many media outlets about her books, including Beatles Examiner! Why would the new book release NOT be in the news?Duh?

  • Anonymous 1 year ago

Having been involved in many research projects (non-fiction) I can tell you depending on the prespective of the person reading, "it is all fiction". Even when it is an autobiography - it is how that person remembers an event. Other people present at the event might recall the event completely differently. So from my point of view it is all fiction, just varying levels and prespectives of what is fact and what is ficition!

  • Anonymous 1 year ago

because it is a non event for a piece of fiction. what news media, the local shopper?

  • Anonymous 1 year ago

I've been reading the above notes and I've perused the book. It is LOADED with references and sources throughout. It would appear that the author has done her homework.

  • Anonymous 1 year ago

just curious..did she know John? ever meet him?

  • Anonymous 1 year ago

    No.
Here's a link to an article about the extensive research (and interviews) that Jude put into writing her book:

I've added links to two interviews I've done with Jude at the bottom of this page. On one of those, she specifically discusses the "fiction" topic.

  • Anonymous 1 year ago

Historical fiction is a legit genre, but I'm not a fan. She can write what she wants, but it still is fiction however meticulous the research may be. Why put Lennon's name on.in it but to sell books.

I want real biographies....or as John would say, "all I want is the truth, just gimme some truth!"
