The red carpet of Monday night’s 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards bore witness to some of the most beautiful women in the entertainment industry with fans wanting to emulate their favorite actresses’ look. Tuesday’s beauty reports ran rampant with how-to style guides, and in the same vein, the Long Island Beauty Lookbook Examiner has received information on how to replicate Lena Headey’s Emmy beauty from her celebrity makeup artist.
Television’s biggest night hosted by Seth Meyers aired on NBC, and the live TV event was not lacking in stunning beauty at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Red was the color of the 2014 Emmys, which also saw very particular hair trends, however every starlet had their makeup tailored to suit their individual style, hair, complexion and of course, designer gown.
Lisa Storey for L’Oréal Paris brought out the classic actress from Hollywood’s golden era in Lena Headey, 40, best known for HBO’s hit “Game of Thrones,” using skincare and makeup from the popular beauty brand. According to the celebrity makeup artist, “Lena wore a gorgeous architectural dress, and has a great short haircut right now, so I decided to go for a modern Audrey Hepburn look with a bit of an edge.”
To get Lena Headey’s red carpet makeup from the 2014 Emmys, Storey first prepped the skin using L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Moisture Blur, and then blended L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation across the face using a darker hue to add a bit of contour around the cheekbones. The skin feels like silk after Moisture Blur is applied. To “bring a fresh, youthful look” to Headey’s already timeless face, Lisa added L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Blush in Soft Pink Rose, which gives the cheeks a natural glow, and L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Concealer in Light-Clair that was used as a highlighter. Celebrity makeup tip: “Blend the concealer across the under eye area, brown bone and cheekbone for a natural highlight.”
For the 2014 Emmys Lena Headey eyes were the focus and were lined using L’Oréal Paris Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in black. Celebrity makeup tip: “Create a thicker line and extend it slightly, but not so far as a traditional cat-eye.” Her lashes were significant to the “standout eye look, and L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara in Blackest Black provided just the right amount volume and rich color. The ergonomic applicator allows for easy layering of the mascara, and is a favorite of the Long Island Beauty Lookbook Examiner.
Arched eyebrows are still the hot beauty trend, but Lisa Storey opted for a natural look on Lena Headey, “without looking too overly-styled” using L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Sculptor in Brunette to create. Headey’s eyes were colored using the darker hues of L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Dual Effects Eye Shadow in Perpetual Nude, which “created dimension on the eyelids, while the lightest golden shade served as highlighter for the inner corners.” The “Game of Thrones” actress’ Emmy makeup was completed with L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Balm Pop in Electric Pink, which according to her celebrity makeup artist “will instantly make any look appear youthful and not too serious.”
