Lena Dunham wins Golden Globe for role in 'Girls'

Actress Lena Dunham has won a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical for her role in "Girls" on Jan. 13 at the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, Beverly Hills, Calif. The Golden Globe Awards are presented by The Hollywood Foreign Press Association and honor the best in film and television. Tonight’s show was hosted by SNL alumni Tina Fey and Amy Poehler and broadcast around the world from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

This is Lena Dunham's first Golden Globe Award win and nomination.

"Girls," is the HBO series that feature a comedy about the experiences of a group of girls in their early 20's.

"Girls" was nominated for a total of two Golden Globe Awards this evening with the other nomination for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy.
