Len Goodman happy Julianne Hough in 'DWTS' but fans tell Carrie Inaba it's wrong

It's official! It was announced on "Good Morning America" on Thursday, August 21, that Julianne Hough will be joining "Dancing with the Stars" as a judge for season 19, alongside original judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. Unfortunately for Julianne, the reaction so far from the show's devoted fans hasn't been all good.

At least Julianne has the support of one very important person on the show. In a video posted to the show's Instagram page, Len said that he is "so excited" that Julianne will be a judge. He said that he wants Julianne to sit next to him and be a buffer between him and Bruno. Host Tom Bergeron also welcomed Julianne back to the show.

Despite Len's endorsement, much of the comments that have been posted in response to the video has been negative of Julianne. Several people wrote that there is no reason for a fourth judge. One person wrote that she believes Julianne was a bad choice, since she's related to one of the pro dancers (Derek Hough), while another wrote that Julianne always causes trouble. Others brought Maksim Chmerkovskiy into it, stating that they didn't like how Julianne treated him last season and how they wanted him as a judge instead.

While Len Goodman has made public his opinion about his new fellow judge, Carrie Ann Inaba simply announced the news on her Twitter account and asked fans to tweet her their thoughts. Again, much of the responses were very negative. One person wrote that that she has watched the show since day one but now won't because of Julianne as a judge. Others similarly voiced their opinions that it was just fine with the three original judges, that they wanted Maks instead, and that Julianne won't be impartial.

Prior to the announcement, there was speculation that Len would leave the show and that Maks would join as a judge, since he has made clear that he no longer wants to dance on the show but still wants to be involved somehow, specifically as a judge. Not all hope is lost for Maks' fans however.

On the last season of "Dancing with the Stars," the show brought in guest judges to cover for Len when he was out. So perhaps there's still a chance that Maks' fans will see him a bit on the upcoming season? Just imagine the presence of both Julianne Hough and Maksim Chmerkovskiy on the judges panel!
