Lemonade Ladies Reflections

If I could catch a rainbow
If I could catch a rainbowMicrosoft

This poem was written by Lemonade Lady, Tami Heffron. Tami is a gentle spirit who grew up in a home where life for a little girl was hard. Tami has suffered the heartache of being involved with a narcissist. Like most survivors of narcissistic abuse, the pain lingers, and is hard to recover from. Tami has found the courage and strength to become healthy both mentally and physically. She is independent, beautiful, and a true friend. Tami is close to her sisters, and when you see them together, you see sisterly love in action.

Tami dedicated her poem to the Lemonade Ladies. When she talks about catching a rainbow, it expresses how she would do the impossible for her Lemonade Lady friends. To catch a rainbow is unattainable, but she would go to the ends of the earth trying. She wants to share beauty with her friends, not physical beauty, but the beauty of the moment; she desires that her friends learn to take a minute and gaze at rainbows. She believes we are all connected with ribbons of love. She wishes to provide a safe place for us when we feel blue. The kind of place where we can say what we choose to in total confidence; and the ears that are listening will take the words of pain to their hearts and wrap their loving arms around us. Healing energy will be shared as one lady takes the hand of another. She can’t take away our troubles; however she can lighten the burden for us by being a friend. Tami gives to the Lemonade Ladies her poem and greatest gift of all, her friendship.

As Tami so beautifully express in her poem there is power in friendship. Power comes from knowing if you try something different, no matter if you fail or succeed, your friends will be there, and that gives you to courage to try new things.

The following is a list of why female friendships are so important:

1. Findings show that married men live longer than single men. Being married, or not, does not expand the life expectancy for women; however, women with strong ties to their female friends live longer than women without close ties to a female friend.

2. Time with our girlfriends actually reduces stress. In the animal kingdom, it has been observed when the male animal is put in a stressful situation, he runs to his female partner. When female animals are put in a stressful situation, they run to the other female animals they were raised with.

3. Women who have other female friends have a higher self-esteem.

Tami, thank you for sharing your poem and your friendship with the Lemonade Ladies, your warm heart is a blessing to us.

If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you,
And share with you its beauty
On the days your feeling blue.

If I could build a mountain,
You could call your very own;
A place to find serenity,
A place to be alone.

If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea,
but all these things I'm finding,
are impossible for me.

I cannot build a mountain or catch a rainbow fair,
but let me be what I know best, a friend who's always there
