Lemme break it down for you: 2011 Monday night TV shows

The 2011 television season seems to be worth tuning in and I've already made my schedule of 'must see shows'. I'm pleasantly surprised to see more scripted shows on primetime networks, however, we all know that by mid-season nearly half of them will be canceled *sigh*. Still, it's promising for future TV writers and actors, when film icons like Scorsese, Spielberg and Bruckerheimer are introducing fresh stories on the small screen.

Before I dive into my whirlwind of 'TV Candy', I have to pay respect again to the amazing, but short lived, talent of actor Andy Whitfield. I had hoped that he would recover and return to Spartacus, but when they replaced him in January with Liam McIntyre, I instantly knew his condition worsened. He brought a charisma to the character that will be hard to replace.

Still I love the show overall, so I'm down to give newcomer to the Spartacus role, Liam McIntyre, a real chance. Regardless, Manu Bennett is reason enough to 'tune in'. ;-)

R.I.P Andy Whitfield.

Okay, here are the Monday night shows on my radar:

HART OF DIXIE- Do not ask me why--the show trailers have not done much to impress me, so I'm not on board 100%. However, I blame my 'interest' in the show on my mama; she loves these types of stories, so I'll give it a shot. Now, I see the '360' connection with Rachel Bilson's out of nowhere chocolate commercial, which was constantly in rotatioin- is all about--build up to her new TV show? NOT! And I really want to make sure of something--is 'MAGNUM' really the name of that ice cream? I mean when I think of eating ice cream, that's the last word I want to come out of my...well anywho, Hart of Dixie premieres on the CW 9/26/11 8pm CST.

THE SING OFF: Okay, okay, I've missed a couple of seasons of this, but I adore Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men, so I'll definitely be tuning in this season. The Sing Off is hosted by Nick Lahey with judges: Ben Folds, Shawn Stockman and Sara Bareilles. It airs Mondays on NBC at 7pm CST

TERRA NOVA: This premieres in a week, so HART OF DIXIE and THE SING OFF better grab me or it's 'check ya later' to both. Most likely I'll flip back and forth between shows until the winner rules out. I'm a big sci-fi and fantasy buff, so chances are Terra Nova will win my audience. Anywho, it premieres on Fox 9/26/11 at 7pm CST

CASTLE:
I'm the type of person who tends to come into a show /series at it's peak, especially if its time slot rivals a show I really like. Needless to say, I'm just now jumping on the Castle band wagon --umpteen years too late huh? Oh well, I was bound to jump on that train now or later, and who doesn't like Firefly TV series / Serenity movie star Nathan Fillion? Castle airs Mondays on ABC at 9pm CST

2 1/2 MEN : Who isn't tuning in to see Ashton Kutcher? I'm not gonna 'front' [lie], Charlie is a natural in roles like that, and aside from the 'DRAMA' spinning around him in the media, he really was the only reason I tuned into that show. Catch 2 1/2's new season, premiering tonight on CBS at 8pm CST. Oh yeah, is anyone gonna watch Charlie's roast on Comedy Central tonight? Hmm, that roast happens one hour after 2 1/2 premieres, perfect timing?

2 BROKE GIRLS: 8:30pm CST, CBS -clearly the reason I'm tuning into this show is because of Kat Dennings. We'll see how long I stay tuned in.

Okay, now it's the FINALE: HAWAII FIVE-O. Yepper, I've been waiting for this season to start since the final episode of last season. Terry O'Quinn, who played John Locke in the TV series, Lost will be in it so....hmmmm- I like him as an actor, just trying to see how he fits into the cast as far as chemistry. But truthfully, I love me some, Alex O'loughlin, so I'm all up in that show. (smile).

Well those are the shows for Monday nights that I'll be checking out. If you feel me, join me on twitter for 'real time tweets' as I watch! @kankan929

TV/Movie TRIVIA:

#1) What movie did, Spartacus star, Manu Bennett co-star with Josh Hartnett and some blood-crazy vampires? (Hint: MovieSetting/Location- THINK of a REALLY, ICY, COLD place in the Pacific Northwest).

2) What movie did Shawn Stockman sing the song, Visions of a Sunset, for the soundtrack?
