Leighton Meester's legal battle with her mother is over

Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester filed a lawsuit against her mother in July, which quickly brought on a counter suit from her mother, Constance Meester.  The legal drama between the mother and daughter is coming to an end, just in time for the holidays.

What was at the heart of the dispute? That would be money.

In the original complaint,  Leighton said that she had sent her mother $7,500 each month to help with her brother's medical expenses, but that Constance had used the money for cosmetic procedures, including plastic surgery, hair extensions and Botox.

In the counter suit, Constance asked for $3 million in damages.

Mommy Meester claimed that she had "sacrificed her happiness" to support Leighton's acting career and that her daughter had breached various management, support, and settlement agreements. The money that was being sent her way was contractually owed, according to Constance.

Constance claimed that she was promised $10,000 per month in support per an oral agreement.

In the end, Constance gave up her counter suit and the judge obliged, allowing Leighton to "obtain a default judgement against her mother".  It looks like Constance won't be laying claim to any money her daughter earns from her very lucrative career.
