Since 2005, an event for businesses that use nanotechnology is hosted by either Drexel University in Philadelphia, or Lehigh University in Bethlehem. The event alternates between the two universities, and this year's seminar was held at the Rauch Business Center on Lehigh's campus.
Nano for Business 2014 featured keynote speaker, Travis Earles, a senior manager for nanotechnology initiatives at Lockheed Martin. The event also featured other researchers discussing the latest in nanotechnology developments and how they can be applied in business.
An industry showcase revealed how companies in the field of nanotechnology perform at their business and become profitable organizations, in the long term.
Additionally there was two panels events; one featured a discussion on turning innovative ideas into a profitable businesses and the other gave information on obtaining financing, particularly for nanotechnology companies.
The whole idea behind the event is take the science of nanotechnology and develop how it can be applied to business, according to Gene Lucadamo, the Lehigh Nanotech Network chair and industry liaison that put together the event.
