The Legoland Florida Water Park opens tomorrow, March 9, for its 2013 season. Even though the weather will be chilly, you can pique your excitement by watching the video toward the bottom of this article.
The park will feature its usual water slides, wave pool, and a lazy river teeming with rafts that you can customize with a variety of colorful Lego bricks. As you'll see in the video, it also have a number of new, elaborate Lego models for its second year of operation.
What new models should you keep an eye out for? You won't be able to miss Lego Moby Dick if you head out on the Build-A-Raft lazy river. He's made of over 200,000 Lego Duplo bricks. Meanwhile, the wave pool has a Lego shark and scuba diver. The shark consists of 248,642 individual bricks, while the scuba diver who comes face to face with him is made up of 86,233 bricks. Last but not least, watch for the brand-new Lego mermaid who greets you at the park entrance.
Also new for 2013 is the Waveside Grill. As the name implies, you'll find this food service outlet near the wave pool. Stop by if you're hungry for a hot dog or a quick snack.
The Legoland Florida Water Park is adjacent to the main Legoland Florida park and requires separate admission. Its rides and play areas are geared to kids up to 12 years old and families, with plenty of beach chairs, play areas, lazy river rafts, and pink-knuckle slides to provide a day of fun in the sun.
