Legoland Florida built up excitement with its recent news of an "unexplained power surge," and today (March 19) it finally revealed the source. An exciting new attraction, the World of Chima is coming to the park in July.
Legoland Florida has been on a fast expansion track since its 2011 opening. It opened a water park in 2012 and also added a Star Wars section to Miniland USA and the Fresh From Florida greenhouse.
The Land of Chima marks a big addition, based on the popular Legends of Chima play theme. The new land will be presented in conjunction with Cartoon Network, home of the related television show. Expect to see a big Cartoon Network presence at the park, starting this summer.
What can Chima fans expect when this new area opens in July? The park held a press conference describing the new experiences. First, guests willl begin their journey with Laval the Lion at the Lion Temple at the base of the majestic Mount Cavorra. The artist's rendering accompanying this article gives a flavor of what that will look like.
The big draw will be the Quest for CHI interactive water ride, where you embark on a mission to recover stolen CHI orbs from the Crocodile King, Cragger. You'll also find a Speedorz arena. In addition to those attractions, Legoland Florida is also adding a 4D Chima movie to its entertainment roster, which will make a nice option on those hot Florida summer days.
Construction is already well underway, so if you're visiting the park in July or after, plan to spend time exploring this new land.
