LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago celebrates its first Super Heroes Weekend (Photos)

Through Monday, February 18, President's Day, LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago is holding its first ever Super Heroes Weekend event. Visitors to this special event can participate in a variety of new activities starring characters from the DC Universe such as Superman and Batman.

Sharp-eyed visitors can search Miniland to spot new additions including scenes from Superman's childhood and vignettes of Superman and Batman battling their various nemeses. Chicagoans will enjoy watching Batman chase Two-Face across the Chicago River or witnessing an epic battle between Lex Luthor and Superman in the middle of downtown.

For a chance to win 4 free annual passes to LDC, visitors can also scan the Jungle Expedition to count how many LEGO bats have escaped from the Batcave and hidden themselves around the exhibition.

Young builders can construct a hero to add to the Hero City Group Build tables. Children can also try to win prizes by participating in Super Hero Creative Challenges like designing and constructing a super villain.

Additional themed activities include being photographed in front of Gotham Green Screens and sitting in on a Model Builder Workshop to learn how to make a mini Super Hero Phone Booth model to keep and take home. Shoppers will enjoy special discounts in the well-stocked gift shop.

As always, visitors to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago can also ride the dragons of the recently revamped Kingdom Quest ride, experience a movie in the 4D Cinema, build and test LEGO Racers, learn how LEGO elements are made as part of a factory tour, and ride the Technicycle to help Merlin mix a potion.

LDC will be open for special President's Day Weekend hours of 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 17 and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 18.
