Yesterday Eurobricks revealed possible major spoilers for the upcoming “Iron Man 3”. While the plot is being kept under wraps that has not prevented Lego from releasing building sets based on scenes in the franchise’s third outing.
One such set is labeled “Iron Man: Malibu Mansion Attack”. Interestingly one included minifigure is that of an Iron Man armor with a Pepper Potts face. This would suggest that at some point during the movie Gwyneth Paltrow will don the super hero’s armor to face down Ben Kingsley’s villainous Mandarin who is also included.
Lego will also release “Iron Man: Extremis Sea Port Battle”. One plotline in the film is based on Marvel Comic’s Extremis storyline and this set will include a minifigure of geneticist Aldrich Killian. It was already known Killian would be played by Guy Pearce in the movie, but it is revealed here for the first time that the doctor will at some point become infected with the Extremis virus.
The film’s final battle is represented by the “Iron Man vs. Mandarin: Ultimate Showdown” set. It appears that the climactic battle will take place with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man facing down a futuristic tank piloted by the Mandarin.
