“I put together”
Translation: “Leg Godt”. Or what we call Lego- has been around since 1932. The product of a Master Carpenter’s idea of playtime with building bricks.
Lego has now made it to film. Sure there are video game Legos but Warner Bros. has stepped up with the new Lego movie which has started a buzz bigger than Despicable Me. See: ‘Lego Movie’ More Buzzworthy.
What do you think: The Lego movie should have a sequel, like most animated films. Do you agree?
According to the Lego IMDB, an ordinary Lego minifigure is recruited to stop an evil LEGO tyrant from gluing the universe together. That premise alone should be incredible to see since Lego is a classic.
Speaking of classic, the animation is not done in “smooth” computer animated form. The world and characters actually resemble the Lego building blocks we all have grew up on.
Other films like “The Little Mermaid” and “Lion King” are instant classics tied to memories of Disney; and DreamWorks has gained popularity traction with films like “Kung Fu Panda” and “Shrek”. Warner Bros. brought us Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny and Marvin the Martian.
And now, Warner Bros. is giving us building blocks that can move and speak- Lego has finally arrived.
