Ever wanted to tell a super-violent zombie story using only Legos and stop-motion animation? Nah, me either... but only because the idea never occurred to me.
Fortunately, I'm off the hook. A group of amateur filmmakers, who clearly possess more time than money, have been flexing their creative muscles with a batch of ambitious short films that successfully blend their love of zombies and kids' toys. Collectively known as "tomjoetwins," the creators of these videos currently offer 19 Lego-based shorts for free viewing on their YouTube channel.
Anyone who dabbles in animation can attest to the unforgiving nature of the stop-motion medium. One jiggle of the camera or ill-timed movement can render an entire sequence unusable; as such, the talent of these lo-fi filmmakers is all the more obvious when the limitations of their tools are taken into consideration. If nothing else, it offers further proof that creativity, talent, and patience will trump budget every time.
The hilarious carnage of Lego City Zombie Infection, my personal favorite of the bunch, is well worth a look. You can watch it below.

So great! Love the Lego Zombie!
weird stuff!!
Oh my...what will they think of next? Bizarre but hilarious.
Just a tad bit weird...
Poor Indy! No, seriously, that bit and the airplane one was hilarious. I watch a fair amount of Lego stop-motion, as I'm an animation fan, and this production is quite well done. Apart from the take on the zombie movie genre, which I appreciate, there's some decent thought given to pacing, camera angles and narrative. It's more than just the gag of Lego zombies, as you pointed out. Great find, Joe!
I LOVE Zombies. The best u guys rock
Tomjoetwins are great and they are not 'amateur filmmakers'! They are amazing!
