“LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham” takes the Caped Crusader and Justice League characters from the DC Comics line-up to out space to stop Brainiac from destroying Earth. According to the official announcement, “Using the power of the Lantern Rings, Brainiac shrinks worlds to add to his twisted collection of miniature cities from across the universe. Now the greatest super heroes and the most cunning villains must unite and journey to different Lantern Worlds to collect the Lantern Rings and stop Brainiac before it’s too late.”

More than 150 characters from DC Comics will be available including LEGO big figures such as Killer Croc and Solomon Grundy. Players will be able to control the powers and abilities of both heroes and villains from Green Lantern’s rings to Brainiac’s mind control powers.

Iconic locations mentioned so far include the Hall of Justice, the Batcave and the Justice League Watchtower. Players will also be able to take part in challenges, battles and races via training modules and the Bat Computer.

“Building on the incredibly successful LEGO Batman franchise, we are working to make LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham the ultimate super hero videogame this year for all ages,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games. “The TT Games team is bringing LEGO Batman and an astounding amount of characters from the DC Comics universe to the next frontier with a new epic story, more gadgets and unexpected challenges.”

“LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham” is currently being built with a fall launch in mind for all platforms. A teaser trailer (complete with a reference to “The LEGO Movie”) was also released along with screenshots.
