Legion Loyalist from 'Gatecrash' revealed (Photos)

Legion Loyalist is one of the newest "Magic: The Gathering" cards spoiled from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert expansion set "Gatecrash." Revealed Jan. 14, 2013 in an article on Dengeki.com, Legion Loyalist can give your creatures an edge in combat.

Creature - Goblin Solider (Rare)
Haste

Battalion - Whenever Legion Loyalist and at least two other creatures attack, creatures you control gain first strike and trample until end of turn and can't be blocked by creature tokens this turn.

If you're sick of opponents blocking with their spirit token creatures they've been creating with Moorland Haunt and Lingering Souls, or perhaps just annoyed with a friend's Growing Ranks deck, then Legion Loyalist is your answer. Your opponent won't be able to rely on the soliders created by Assemble the Legion after they cast Terminus either.

In a Boros deck Frontline Medic will keep your Legion Loyalist from dying during combat. Because it has haste it'll enable your other Battalion creatures like Firemane Avenger the turn it hits the battlefield.

Legion Loyalist also fits nicely into Domri Rade decks because it can give your creatures like Wolfir Silverheart trample without having to enchant them with a Rancor.

Somewhere there's a Raging Goblin crying in a card box.

How will you use Legion Loyalist?
