What is the definition of a lie? According to Merriam-Webster, a lie is the intent to deceive through making an untrue statement.
Being a Democrat and a staunch man of the left, it is without question that Barack Obama is the leader and Promoter-in-Chief of Liberalism in America. The question is: What are the President and his party willing to do to promote their agenda?
In July 2010, HHS (Dept. of Health and Human Services) secretary Kathleen Sebelius initiated regulations to Obamacare in which she was informed that 50-60% (5 to 6 million people) of Americans who obtained their health insurance on the Independent Market would lose their coverage, yet the President repeatedly stated on his campaign trail that if you liked your health care plan, you could keep it. If you liked your doctor, you could keep your doctor. Did Kathleen not inform the president of the large number of Americans awaiting the impending loss of their health insurance?
On September 2012, less than 2 months before the Presidential Election, the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was attacked, leaving four Americans dead. In the days following the attack, the President’s UN ambassador, Susan E. Rice, stated on numerous Sunday morning news programs that the attack was in response to an anti-Muslim video that Mark Basseley Youssef posted on the internet. However, it is now known that the Consulate received several threats and that the U.S. Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, who was killed in the attack, requested additional security several times. Was the President unaware of Ambassador Stevens’ request before Susan Rice appeared on the fore mentioned talk shows?
In addition, in 2013, the American people learned that the IRS targeted conservative non-profit groups, withholding or delaying their tax-exempt status which limited their ability to influence the public.
In each of these cases, the Department of State, Department of Treasury, Department of Health and Human Services, and the National Security Agency left the American people asking more questions and getting few answers. Is the Obama Administration deliberately misleading the American people just to forward their ideology? Does the President allow his cabinet to run amok, keeping him willfully ignorant so that he can maintain plausible deniability?
Is there a pattern here? What else has Liberalism mislead us about? Does second-hand smoke really cause cancer? Do the carbon emissions from an ever increasing industrial planet really affect climate change? What does Liberalism value more, ideology, or truth? What will be the next lie?
