Cheddarhead Leftists and Union thugs, accompanied by thousands of spoiled college students, certainly made their mark in the Wisconsin state capitol the past two weeks. These "me first" statist obstructionists, who failed to even mimic representing the American taxpayer in the last election, will go to any lengths to continue to tell taxpayers "you owe me!"
Let's get one thing out of the way. There are no "America stands with Unions!" NATIONAL poll results. The myriad of CBS and Rasmussen reports come from Wisconsin only. While I am all about states rights and they can do what they choose, it really annoys me to see cheese grated leftists extrapolating that to mean NATIONAL opinion.
The national Quinnipiac poll shows a plurality of Americans think collective bargaining privileges should be limited for public employees. Thats the honest way to ask that poll question. Should collective bargaining "privileges" extend to public workers being able to shut down government service? The answer among ALL Americans is clearly NO.
Even more strikingly, when asked if government employees should be allowed to be represented by unions, a resounding 64% said NO. Including 42% of Democrats. Hm. There might be a few sensible ones out there.
That should tell you something about the extremist voices occupying public halls in Wisconsin's capitol, defacing property and bringing weapons caches for god knows what. An even greater plurality knows this is being done not to weaken unions but to bring budget costs under control.
Legislation of this kind is going to pass in Ohio and elsewhere, and its going to pass in Wisconsin. The left has just a few too many dullards in it to have realized it, apparently. And these latest attempts at overtly threatening the Governor or the peoples representatives by leaving hollow point ammunition lying around, defacing public property and chasing lawmakers around like a lynch mob will not help the cause of keeping their fat paychecks. The Wisconsin Tea Party is planning a Take Out The Trash day to clean up the mess the cheese mob left behind. Of course.
