Colorado BIZ magazine just released their 50 Colorado companies to watch list and two Colorado craft breweries made the list as up-and-comers.  Even with the fragile state of our economy, the craft beer industry is growing steadily.  The magazine attributes the success of craft beers in the current economy to affordable luxury.  Everyone needs to feel like their spoiling themselves and great quality craft beer is a good way to do that without spending a lot.

Left Hand is recognized by Colorado BIZ as a swiftly expanding company with an array of award-winning beers in their repertoire.  Left Hand is also known for their community involvement and fundraising for charities such as the Imagine! Foundation Board, the Our Center Board, and the Colorado Brewers Guild Board. Left Hand supported nearly 160 fundraising events through donations in 2009 and hosted 10 fundraising events at the brewery.

SKA Brewing out of Durango made the list for the sheer magnitude of growth the last few years.  The craft brewery maintained a 10 to 20 percent growth over the last 13 years and recording a 38 percent capacity increase last year alone (during a recession year no less).  Ska is the only Colorado craft brewer acting as a wholesaler for more than 150 other brands of beer, which allows the company to offer a wide variety of craft and imported beers to its retailers.
