Lee DeWyze has a wedding in his future - the 2010 American Idol winner confirms he proposed to girlfriend, model/actress Jonna Walsh, earlier this month. DeWyze popped the question on a private yacht near Disney World on July 16, he tells People magazine.
"Jonna is a Disney freak. They were playing love songs on the boat and I got down on my knee and asked her." The 25 year old singer says he had a speech prepared, but admits he never got through it. "It all went out the window. She started crying and I said, 'Is that a yes?'"
Lee Dewyze, a former paint clerk who found sudden fame on American Idol, and Jonna Walsh met when he cast her for a role in his music video for the single "Sweet Serendipity." The couple started dating in October 2010 and despite only being together for 8 months before proposing DeWyze says he's sure she's 'the one.' "When you know, you know. We both feel that way. We don't need to be together 20 years before we figure it out."
The couple plans to wed in the fall of 2012.
