On April 6, 2014, the American Taliban's obsession with opposing President Obama and the Democrats at every opportunity, regardless of how detached from reality that opposition may be, finally crossed a very disturbing line.
Speaking on Washington Watch with reality TV show star Josh Duggar, South Carolina state senator and US Senate candidate Lee Bright insisted that Republicans everywhere looking for a role model should look to a noted Eurasian dictatorial war criminal.
If [Speaker] Boehner had the courage that Putin and Assad had, we'd be living in a different America, but we don't have the leadership and we've got to continue to try to get folks to Washington that are going to take the fight to the liberal agenda.
One thing I didn't mention earlier, you were talking about things going around the state, we've got the homosexual agenda on the full march in our institutions of higher ed and we've gone from education to indoctrination, so we are in a fight — they have seized the educational establishment and we've got to take that back and we've got to get folks involved in that or otherwise that's our next generation.
There just aren't words in the English language sufficient enough to describe the atrocity in this statement. For years, the American Taliban has been peddling conspiracy theories about President Obama secretly plotting to mass-murder his own people, and now someone who has done so for real has been declared a role model.
And not by one of the usual guano loco conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones, Jim Garrow, Phil Elmore or Gina Miller, nor a noted tyranny enthusiast like Larry Klayman, Erik Rush, Rick Joyner or Christopher Monckton, but by an actual U.S. Senate candidate.
April 6, 2014 was a sad day for America indeed.
