Lee Brice was the surprise nominee for the 2014 ACM Awards Male Vocalist of the Year when the nominations were announced on January 29. The Academy of Country Music revealed the nominees through a series of video posts to their Facebook and Twitter pages.

This is Lee Brice’s first nomination for Male Vocalist. He steps into the prestigious company of proven artists Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban and Jason Aldean.

“I Drive Your Truck,” performed by Lee Brice, won the CMA Song of the Year in November and now picks up ACM nominations for Song of the Year, Single of the Year and Video of the Year. Lee Brice would win the Single and Video awards, while Song of the Year would be presented to the songwriters, Jessi Alexander, Connie Harrington & Jimmy Yeary.

In addition, Lee Brice is nominated for New Artist of the Year. He is currently a semi-finalist, but will become one of three finalists if fan vote favors him.

Fans can cheer on Lee Brice when the 2014 ACM Awards air on CBS on Sunday, April 6.
