On February 21, 2013, Lecrae will be coming to Columbia, SC as one of the feature artists for the Gravity Tour. One of our very own local artists will have an opportunity to open for him. On January 12, 2013 G&M Showcase Group held a contest for local artists to audition to see who would be opening for Lecrae. There are 20 finalists as a result of the competition and now you get to decide who will win.
Click Here to vote for your favorite artist. One of the groups competing in the competition is DETOX. DETOX got their name because when they play, their music literally changes and cleanses the atmosphere. “It’s like God speaks through them,” said Patrice Nicole in reference to the musicians.
In 1 Samuel 16 we read that God sent a distressing spirit to plague King Saul. Whenever the spirit came upon Saul, he sent for David to play his harp. 1 Samuel 16:23 says, “And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him.” Likewise, when Detox plays, they cleanse and refresh the atmosphere with their musical gifts from God.
Detox has played for Tye Tribbett, John Lakin, Rhema Soul, John P. Kee, and Daniel Johnson of Israel and New Breed to name a few.
