Several media sources including ESPN NBA analyst Brian Windhorst; are reporting that the agent for NBA superstar LeBron James met with representatives for the Cleveland Cavaliers; according to a July 7 article in ESPN News. The meeting fueled speculation that James was considering resigning with the Cavaliers.

LeBron James is an Akron native who grew up playing basketball in Ohio. In 2010, LeBron announced that he was going to sign on to play with the Miami Heat. Local residents and fans burned LeBron’s jersey in anger; while the Cavs owner (Dan Gilbert) promised fans that the city of Cleveland would win a title before LeBron did. In the 4 years James played with Miami; the team went to the NBA finals 4 times; winning 2 and losing 2.

50 random Chicagoans (not necessarily Bulls fans) were asked the following question: where will LeBron James be playing basketball next year. Over half (29 out of 50) said that LeBron James would be playing with the Houston Rockets. 30% of the Chicagoans polled believed that LeBron would be back with the Miami Heat. The remaining 6 said that LeBron would go back to Cleveland.

The Chicagoans overwhelmingly believed that the reason James would not go back to Cleveland is that there was too much bad blood between he and Dan Gilbert (Cavs owner). About forgiveness, the Holy Bible says that if we cannot forgive men who mess us over; then we will not be forgiven by God when we seek it. The Bible also says that we need only to ask for forgiveness, and, once we ask, God is faithful and just and will forgive us.

Do you think LeBron James is headed back to Cleveland? Do you believe that the relationship between LeBron and Cavs owner Dan Gilbert cannot be healed?
