The Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James rumors are just starting to heat up and why not, after all they are the top two free agents this off season in the NBA - bar none! Well, that is if they choose to be free agents. Both of these superstars have the option to test the free-agency market this summer or they can stay put until next season.

According to a USA Today report on June 19 Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh are among the players who could become free agents this summer if they choose so. All four of these all-stars have the option to stay one more year where they are at, or test the free agency market and see if they can make even more money than before. The rumors on these four will surely get hotter as the July 1 date approaches and after Pat Riley's end of the year address in Miami earlier this week you have to wonder what is up his sleeve for the 2014-15 season.

Riley had some great stuff to say during his 55 minute conference about the Heat's future, along with some point blank things about his "Big 3", particularly LeBron James.

"This stuff is hard. And you got to stay together, if you've got the guts. And you don't find the first door and run out of it," Riley said Thursday at his annual end-of-the-season news conference.

Positive that Wade and Bosh want to stay in Miami, Riley acknowledged James "has the right to do whatever he wants to do" and needs time to get away from basketball to consider his options.

But Riley also said, "I didn't come down here 19 years ago for a quick trip to South Beach and a sun tan. … I don't think they did either."

The irony could be incredible if James decides to bolt from the Heat and play for another team, but fans shouldn't be surprised if it happens. Sports are different nowadays then they were 20 years ago. Unfortunately players just seem to be out for a bigger and better pay day instead of trying to win championships.

Just like any player in sports, James has the right to do whatever he wants, but his best chance at another ring may be right where he is now. It will be interesting to see if Riley tries to bring in free agent Carmelo Anthony this off season. Several reports have indicated that the Bulls and Rockets are interested in Anthony, but new Knicks GM Phil Jackson is also interested in keeping 'Melo in the Big Apple.

One thing is for sure, it is going to be an interesting off season in the NBA!
