LeBron James jersey sales are again the best in the NBA. James and his No. 6 jersey for the Miami Heat easily out-paced every other NBA player again this past year. According to a report from ESPN on Thursday (Dec. 19), Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers is No. 2 on the list and Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls is No. 3 on the list. It's surprising that Bryant and Rose have missed so much time due to injuries over the past year but have remained as popular as ever.
Finishing out the top five on the list are Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder at No. 4 and Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks at No. 5. It's very interesting to note that new variations of nearly all the top selling jerseys will be coming out soon as the short-sleeved version will be showcased in the Christmas Day games. Late in the season there will also be a nickname version for many players. On the jersey for the reigning NBA MVP it will say "King James" as part of that new promotion.
Rounding out the top 10 on the list are Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors at No. 6, Dwyane Wade of the Heat at No. 7, Chris Paul of the LA Clippers at No. 8, Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers No. 9, and Blake Griffin of the Clippers at No. 10. One name worth watching is Paul George of the Indiana Pacers as he checks in at No. 14 on the list. He is only the third member of the Pacers to crack the top 15 since 2001.
With the new uniform variations coming out soon, it shouldn't be shocking if LeBron James jersey sales top the list again in 2014.
