Lebron loves Akron

LeBron James' GQ article talks of Cleveland hate, Akron love (ESPN video)

LeBron James loves living in Akron so much -- and still lives here -- with folks talking about seeing LeBron up at Cedar Point the other day at a shoot around, getting hassled by some disgruntled folks.

So maybe Mr. James will come visit Word Akron on Sunday after watching this YouTube.com video of their launch.

But the below video about LeBron James' GQ article is an interesting one, with excerpts from the new September 2010 GQ article, cover-titled "LeBron James Can Take the Heat" by J.R. Moehringer, who spent three weeks in crazyville with LeBron James around the time of his big decision.

Excerpts from "Into the Funhouse with King James: Three Weeks in Crazyville," GQ's September cover story on LeBron James are already on GQ's website, and they are curious in what they reveal.

Like how LeBron didn't expect his fans to be so mad after his decision, but then he recognizes those people burning his jerseys probably weren't real fans anyway.

I think he's right there.

And the way he distinguishes Akron from Cleveland. It's true, they are two very different cities -- although outsiders like me who'd never even really heard of Akron before I moved here have heard Cleveland-Akron used so much in relation to the other.

After all, where is Akron if we couldn't say it's a half-hour drive south of Cleveland?

But it's good LeBron told GQ in the magazine article that he would consider coming back to Cleveland.

I, for one, am one Cavs fans that would welcome him back with open arms, like the dad did to the prodigal son, standing afar off and glad to see him return home after his playtime in the pig slop proved unfutile.

Not that the Heat are pigs, mind you -- it's just that other ESPN article about LeBron getting all crazy at some Vegas party has me hoping LeBron didn't just "take his talents to South Beach" to hear the "Hot mommies scream 'Ai papi!'" praises that Will Smith sang about.
