LeBron James and Cleveland talk with Jay-Z on David Letterman (Youtube.com video)

In the below Youtube.com video, David Letterman falsely says that LeBron James leaving Cleveland "would cut the heart out of the city" if he left to play for the Knicks or Nets or somewhere else.

Letterman said that if LeBron chose to stay in Cleveland, that would make him the real hero.

Jay-Z was being very diplomatic -- wanting to avoid fines and stay within NBA rules -- when discussing the LeBron situation.

Letterman said "yeah we get busloads from Cleveland every day" when Jay-Z noticed the amount of support from Ohio in the audience, and Jay-Z tried to rally the New York fans in the audience by saying "This is New York" and grunting in a funny way to other questions he didn't want to, or couldn't legally, answer.

The rapper mogul sat down with Letterman on the same night as the NBA Draft -- the supremely long event that occurred Thursday night, the same day news of the Chicago Bulls freeing up serious cash for their bid for LeBron broke.

Meanwhile, HuffPo has pics of what they claim is an apartment in New York LeBron James was caught viewing.

And of course Cleveland fans are commenting beneath that piece their beliefs that LeBron wouldn't leave the city, and how they feel he'd get swallowed up in a larger team.

But of course, LeBron will go or stay wherever he's hopefully meant to be -- but fans who believe in the whole illuminati Jay-Z theories of course would love for LeBron to stick to what he said before.

This is pathetic, this artist has no clue as to society or even anything that is going on. I say a zero on the scale. Very sad that modern artists can be so disengaged in what is going on.

Can't wait til this fiasco is over, at this point I don't care what he does - he'll never be respected again in this state if he leaves. This KING thing has really gone to his head. Win a championship first Lebron, before you have the arrogance to "interview" new teams.

What do you mean by "falsely says"? You are taking words out a man's mouth. Nice journalism.

Oh yeah - it's the web - I'll go to bed now.

Jay-Z has part ownership in the NJ Nets, and any owner pursuing a team member of another team before the July 1st date in which that player is a free agent is considered tampering and he would be fined.

For what it's worth, this is a horribly written article. David Letterman made a bold and accurate statement, knowing that the roots and meaning LeBron has in Cleveland run deeper than what they could establish anywhere else. He also mentioned the economy here, which LBJ does contribute to in a very positive way (estimating about $200 million per season). NYC would barely notice, while another city would slip further into a recession and stunt the growth they've seen since he's been a Cavalier ... Oh, but who cares, right? NYC is so much cooler and wants the big player more. People can be so trivial.
