For the defending champion Miami Heat, a two-game losing streak wasn't cause for concern, but it was definitely a motivator for Sunday's game against Washington.
Unfortunately for the Wizards, LeBron James and the Heat had no intention of seeing that streak continue.
James scored a game-high 25 points as Miami got back to its winning ways, topping the Wizards, 103-93. The Heat led by 23 heading into the fourth quarter before Washington closed the gap late.
The only Heat players in double figures were the trio of James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. The three combined for 69 points in helping Miami to an outstanding 52.9 percent shooting mark from the field.
Washington was paced by 19 points from second-year guard Bradley Beal. A Beal three-pointer in the game's early moments gave Washington a 9-2 lead. A 16-4 run by the Heat tipped the momentum back in Miami's favor, and the home squad never looked back.
Now at 2-2, the Heat prepare for a trip up north to face the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday.
