Leaving What You Know

In the Bible there is a story that tells how Yeshua met Peter and instructed him to leave his nets and follow him to become a fisher of men. This type of story is found all throughout the Bible… Moses, Noah, Jonah, even Yeshua himself embarks on a path that many would run from.

This idea of the Hero’s journey, the Quest for the Grail, living one’s dream, is also found throughout mythologies of past and present, Hercules, Isis, Harry Potter, Peter Parker (Spiderman), Bruce Wayne (Batman), and Dorothy Gale.

Each of us, at one point or another will feel that inner itch of the soul, that divine discontent, calling us to expand beyond our perceived boundaries, to step beyond our comfort zone, to leap into the abyss knowing that our wings will appear!

When you awake tomorrow morning, before you do anything you normally do to begin your day, go to your mirror, look yourself in the eyes and ask, “What are you willing to leave today?” What are you willing to let go of and leave in order to be, do, and have what your destiny has for you?

Like the caterpillar, are you ready and willing to leave behind what you know of that life, your caterpillar family and friends in order to set sail in a new form as a butterfly?

What beliefs, persistent feelings, and behaviors are you engaging in that are serving as anchors preventing you from being all you deserve to be?
Is negative thinking your addiction of choice?
Is scarcity and lack being shot into your veins, keeping you high on the cocktail of indecision, fear, and immobility?
Is anger, bitterness, blame, the rope by which you hang yourself on a daily basis?
Is it easier to remain comfortable and complacent with the jail of your own consciousness than to experience the freedom and bliss you don’t know?

There is more than enough evidence in both scientific, spiritual, and psychological fields of study that tell us change is possible, evolution is possible, transformation of mind and experience is possible; but we must be willing to take that first step.

Are you willing to R.I.S.K. it all and be free?
