Former Bachelor winner Shayne Lamas was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI charges just after 1am Saturday morning in Venice, California, as reported by E! News.
Lamas, now the star of her family's reality show on E!, won Bachelor Matt Grant's heart on an earlier season of The Bachelor. The couple split up soon after.
Lamas made the statement: “Early Saturday morning, after consuming one drink, I willingly drove through a mandatory check point on my way home with complete confidence of passing," Lamas said. "However, the breathalyzer indicated that I was over the legal limit of blood alcohol content and was arrested onsite. I take full responsibility for my lack of judgment. I have always strived to be a role model for my friends, family and fans and have never nor will ever condone drinking and driving. I apologize for all those I have disappointed, including myself.”
Lamas was released from custody later that morning. She'll appear in court Dec. 9 for the charge, a misdemeanor.
The 24-year-old reality star is daughter to actor Lorenzo Lamas.
